I'm also waiting for a hearing aid.

Anyway, I know alot of people in life go through a lot of shit. We all have to adjust in times of ill health, slow down, sometimes change our lifestyles and I know and appreciate there are people out there that are going through far worse things than me. Some days I feel devastated and have to give myself a big kick to get going.

I'm at a point now when I don't really know when I'll be well enough to do music. I've been told it will take a few months for the physio to work ...Mojave 3 did a video for the new single this week. I wasn't able to take part in that. Touring is not looking like an option I can do right now either. Things are left open for me with all this. If I'm able to, I will take part. A friend has been brought in to cover me for the time being for gigs. The record needs to be released and promoted right? I'm just in no fit state to do any of it at the moment and it all feels pretty harsh.

A month ago I didn't want people knowing; but it's inevitable that it's going to have to come out and I would rather it came directly from me....if anyone out there has been through a similar thing, I sure would like to hear from you..[/quote:faacdf846d]

I have been 'drug free' since March for this, but had to succumb a couple of weeks ago to some different medication as I have been having rotational vertigo - which means, everything moving around in front of me ~ I wouldn't mind if I was high, but hey, those days are long gone and it's just a nightmare when this happens and also the not knowing when it's going to happen makes for a very tense Rachel indeed. It knocks my confidence and does make me retreat into doing as little moving around as possible at times. Anyway, on some new medication for this and it seems to be taking the edge off a little.

I see all these gigs Mojave 3 are booked to do, and so many wonderful festivals, I still feel gutted after 11 years in the band (and lets see, 20 years in bands with Neil), all that we've done and strived for over the years, the time seems right for it all to finally come together on the live front with some great gigs on offer, except I am not there to enjoy and be a part of. Miffed is an understatement.

I live in hope that maybe in a few weeks I can join them for the odd show. If the vertigo stuff dies down enough, I will definately try ...

Thank you again to everyone that has offered support and shared stories. This is the stuff that makes the world a better place to live in.

And you just have to check out the new Midlake album. I am so addicted to this!

Molemmat uudelta levyltä kuulemani piisit on aika hyviä. Varsinkin Breaking the Ice. Ostoon! Harmittaa kyllä vähän kun tuota olisi saanut Pariisista jollain 13 :lla enkä uskaltanut ostaa.

Oon ihan koukussa tähän Mojaven Puzzles Like You'hun rakkaus

Tätä on aika hemmetin hankala verrata vanhempaa tuotantoon. Minuta tämä on jopa parasta näiltä ikinä, mutta sitten kun taas kuuntelee sitä vanhempaa niin ne on parasta. Kummaa. Rachel ei pääse lopullekaan kiertueelle mukaan. Tilanne ei ole parantunut, eikä ole mitään mahdollisuutta edes mennä lentokoneeseen, jos nyt oikein ymmärsin. Voi sitä raukkaa.

Vieläkään en ole muistanut kuunnella levyä tarpeeksi, mutta viimeksi kuulosti jo tosi hyvältä. Tosiaan kyllä aika erilaista meininkiä kuin ennen.

Taidan pitää Mojave 3:n Ask Me Tomorrow'sta enemmän kuin mistään Slowdive-levystä. Se ei välttämättä vielä ole hirvittävän paljon se, mutta jotain kuitenkin icon_wink

Joo, se on hieno levy. Itse löysin sen ihan oudosti keväällä 2001 yhdestä divarista, josta en ole ikinä ostanut mitään muuta levyä. En heti edes ollut ihan varma, että olikos tämä nyt se Slowdive-tyyppien bändi, mutta tutut nimet paljastivat. Taisin maksaa siitä 40 markkaa.

Helpostihan tuo lopulta löytyi. Ensikuuntelun perusteella levy on aika Slowdivea, eli jatkaa luontevasti siitä, mihin Pygmalion jäi (mikä tekee DBGenen aiemmasta kommentista vähän hassun). Toiseen omistamaani Mojave 3 -levyyn (Excuses for Travellers) verrattuna AMT vaikuttaa tasaisemmalta, mutta vielä ei tarttunut korvaan samanlaisia hittibiisejä kuin In Love with a View tai Return to Sender.

Joo pakko vaan sanoa, että Just for a Day oli pitkästä aikaa kuultuna melkoista parhautta. Heräsin kuuntelemaan sitä, kun levymessuilta löytyi kympillä älppäri (jota en ole vielä kuunnellut, mutta toki se pönöttää levyhyllyn päällä).
