Uusi levy oli hyvin tyrkyllä Lontoossa Oxford Streetin HMV:ssä joten lähti mukaan yks lp. Ja helvetin kovahan tää on! Markun ilmaisu yltyy välillä mukavan repiväksikin ja soundeista diggailen, aika samanmoiset kuin edellisellä monster hit recordilla. Näillä mennään, aijai!

Aika ristiriitaisia arviota saanut tuo uusin... Täällä kaikki näyttävät tykänneen, mutta melkeinpä kaikkialla muualla saanut heikompia arvioita... Eipä taida uskaltaa ihan summassa ostaa... Mulla tosin on Imperial Wax Solventkin vielä hankkimatta (jos sitä nyt enää mistään edes saa)

The Wonderful And Frightening World Ofin ja This Nation's Saving Gracen Omnibus-versioita näyttäis muuten saavan edelleen halvalla (21 ja 17 ) play.comista (ainakin Beggars Banguetin kotisivujen mukaan ovat loppuunmyyty). Ensinmainitun spesiaaliversio sisältää jotain rough mixejä, peel sessioita ja livejä ja jälkimmäisen muuten samoja, mutta cd:tä on yksi vähemmän erillistä liveä ei ole.

no kyllähän nyt fallia uskaltaa summassakin ostaa. jos jotain moitetta sanoisin, niin henk.koht. tykkään, että voisivat ottaa taas vähän elektronisemman linjan (vrt. von südenfed), mutta muutenhan tuo on laatutyötä, ja erikoisesti mark e. smithin vokaalit rulettaa. mutta makuasioita nämä, tämä siis jos tykkää markin "pulsuvoksuista" biggrin

nuo omnibusit kannattaa ilman muuta hankkia, olkoonkin että yllättävän vähille kuunteluille ovat mulla jääneet ne lisälevyt, mutta rahoille piisaa toki vastinetta, ja onhan nuo ihan fallin parhaita levyjä.

Mitä nyt pari biisiä Youtubesta kuuntelin tuota uutta The Fallia niin en ihan täysin ymmärrä sitä miksi Mark E Smithin lauluääntä nyt yhtä-äkkiä niin moititaan. Tuommonenhan se on ollut jo jonkin aikaa... Greenway ainakin edusti ehkä aavistuksen raskaampaa menoa, mitä nuo muut kuulemani 2000-luvun levyt, mutta ihan ok biisejä molemmat olivat (Greenway ja Nate Will Not Return, Cosmos 7 en löytänyt mistään kuultavaksi)

Eikä se edes läpi levyn vedä sen pahimman pultsarifiltterin läpi. Ja tällä levyllä se ördäys toimii mulle jostain syystä paremmin ku esim. Reformationilla.

Mä olen kyl sitä mieltä et tää on 'älä vääntele naamaas tai se jää sellaiseksi' juttu, eli 10 vuoden päästä hra Smith kykenee laulamaan pelkästään tuollai jossain oksennuksen, kurlauksen ja puheen välimaastossa.

Live at the Witch Trials on yllättävän poppia! Olin odottanut jotain paljon rosoisempaa menoa ja eihän tuo ollut edes live grin Hyvä levy joka tapauksessa ja pistin siitäkin tupla-cd:n tilaukseen. Von Süderfedin cd löytyi myös halvalla ja pistin senkin tilaukseen spam3

En ole muuten koskaan ymmärtänyt miksi Fall-puritaanit tuntuis sylkevän Live at the Witch Trialsin päälle. Johtusko siitä, että se on kuitenkin jossain määrin aikansa tuote, bändin levyistä kuiteski lähimpänä sitä brittipunkin kevyempää aaltoa. Älyttömän hyviä biisejähän sillä on.

Jep. Live ei tosin nyt mitenkään kauhean erityinen ollut, mutta kyllähän tuollainen pahvilaatikko levykeräilijän mieltä lämmittää. Bonusta vielä siitäkin, että vinyylireplikoinnissa ollaan menty niinkin pitkälle, että cd on sellaisessa jossain vaiheessa käytössä olleessa (ärsyttävässä) muovisessa sisäpussissa. tässä oon aamua aloitellut kuuntelemalla extricatea ja nyt shift-workia. nämä kaksi levyähän jossain määrin muuttivat bändin soundia 90-luvun alussa koneempaan ja popimpaan suuntaan ja hc-fanit usein eivät juuri arvosta, koska mark e. smith melkein laulaa näillä, mukana melodioita sun muuta hempeilyä. mutta itse olen aina tykännyt näistä ja edelleen toimii. itse asiassa vaikea keksiä parempia levyjä rakkaus
