tuolta löytyy tietty faktat, eli suotta unohdettu manchesterilaisbändi jonka nostan surutta fallin, joykkareitten, new orderin ja happy mondaysien ja miksei smithsienkin rinnalle vai meniskö jo vähän ohi? käsittämättömän nerokasta ja hienoa musiikkia. bändi jolla oli aivan oma soundi, sellainen tumma, sähköviulun sävyttämä meininki joka loppuaikoina sai ehkä vähän funkahtaviakin sävyjä. joo no mut ne jotka tietää tietää, ja ne jotka ei, kandee tsekkailla. parasta ikinä rakkaus colorflash :psykee::psykee::psykee::psykee::psykee:

joo nyt on uusi lätty hallussa ja jokunen kerta kuunneltu, eihän tätä nyt ehkä ihan kunnon albumina voi pitää, alussa uusia biisejä, sitten remixejä, arkistojen aarteita ja jopa yksi ralli yhtyeen ihan ensimmäiseltä seiskalta vuodelta -85. tietyllä tavalla hajanaisuudessaan jatkoa jokunen vuosi sitten nimellä slum cathedral user julkaistulle machine gun witchkraft ep:lle, jossain biisissä vähän junkkarytmiä yms. mutta onhan tää nyt sentään edelleen asiameininkiä ja tämä julkaisu suuri kulttuuriteko ja charlie keigher, joka nykyään tunnetaan näköjään nimellä 'charlie keighera' edelleen yksi aikamme suuria neroja.

näiden paras levy toki edelleen 2 ekaa maxia ja ep:llisen aikanaan tuoretta matskua sisältänyt barbarous english fayre lp.

31st August 2015. a brand new album of all new material is currently being considered. 22 new songs have been written and if financial obstacles can be overcome, then recording could begin late October 2015. Give us your thoughts on the idea.

There is now only 1 copy left on Amazon of the 2009 album. The Orphaned Files. Juliet green.
Before everyone goes to bed and back to work, We have had a number of messages asking about the new album and who is involved, and will it be like ,The Orphaned Files.
There were about 5 brand new songs on that album, mainly Charlie, and a few mates doing the new songs. The new album will be a full band, so depending on how it goes, then maybe live performances could follow. Charlie has written all the songs and lyrics and is playing guitar. The guitar is heavy as fuck according to Charlie. There will be distorted electric violin/cello on some the songs and it is/will be the heaviest sounding King Of The Slums album to date. If there are to be LIVE shows following release it will be announced here. 6 back to back Shows in Manchester in December 2015, 2 in London and 1 in Berlin are being considered, but this is all upon successful completion of the new album. Everyone is talking to everyone at the moment, but until the album is recorded and everyone is happy the LIVE, shows are speculation. Everyone is very excited following the response of Facebook and are definitely going to record.

22nd May 2016. update on Album.
The guitar tracks for the album have now been finished.
There will be 12 new songs on the album.
Stuart Owens, the original drummer in the band will be doing his thing. Final recording of the album is expected and hoping to be complete by the late summer.
More updates will follow nearer release date. ; )

Manco Diablo/ update. The recording of the album is now virtually complete. The band are very happy with the results. The album is being mixed Mid March. So release date is now around Mid April 2017. Shortly after the release of the album, the band are planning to release an EP. The current title of the EP is,

Hi Wolfgang. No, Sarah, is not involved in the band, The band are currently a 3 piece.. Stuart, Charlie and Nic. The violin sound has been absorbed into the guitars. There are a lot of guitars, Very heavy guitars, it may not be what people are expecting, or even like, but it is a unique album, I believe it to be their finest piece of work to date. You asked earlier about live performances...No one has heard anything substantial from the band in a long time, So, there is nothing formally agreed until the reception of the album can be quantified. 5 Live performances by the band have been considered in quite incredulous locations, California and Berlin. But the band will not formally look at Live performance unless it is on the bands own terms. Those terms are currently, a 2 hour performance of all the bands present and previous material, so electric violin would be involved. It also involves a pre performance consisting of Ballet and Northern Soul dancers.. The logistics and cost is obviously extraordinary, So unless the album, becomes some kind of phenomenon, I personally feel Live performances are not realistic at present..Thank you for your messages. Purpose of KOTS: underground/sub social/art for art sake/die unknown, but with a grin. Made music to steal not to own. Curious/priceless......It does appear that the follow up EP, To the Manco Diablo, Album.., "Ugly Art Paradigm". May now become another full Album....So what does this mean?...We don't know...But the final song..."Diamante Swansong", Will live up to it's title. Of course we do have to release the new album first. 8th June 2017. We don't know what is going to happen over the next six months, but want to thank everyone's interaction thus far. Take care. niin mitähän tosta uudesta levystä sanoisi? sarah curtisin viulua on kyllä ikävä, nyt on meininki vähän sellainen että kitaristi soittaa jotain grungeriffejä ja jos joku tämän myötä bändiin tutustuu niin saattaa jäädä mysteeriksi se, miksi väitän että bändi teki vuonna 1988 my bloody valentinen ohella sen hetken parasta ja omaperäisintä musiikkia. mutta jatketaan harjoituksia (ja yksinpuhelua), ei tuo huono levy ole. kahdensadan ensimmäisen levyn mukana tuli vielä bändin jäsenten nimmaroima numeroitu postikortti

Post by Gex/KOTS Manager. It looks like the new album/ "Artgod Dogs". will be ready mid to late April 2018. The only LIVE Performance in the UK, in June 2018, will reflect the bands upcoming album, The Manco Diablo album, and the bands musical history. Visually, I have now been informed, "it will be slums theatre"..It will be filmed and recorded as the only official LIVE performance of the bands work.

Our Story
KING OF THE SLUMS·SATURDAY, 21 APRIL 2018.
The band started up around 1985 in the 'Hulme', area of Manchester. England UK.
They never considered themselves a 'Manchester', band, just a band with an arty background, a little self indulgent and story-type songs...A distorted electric violin was used all the time in early recordings, along with Guitar, bass and drums...They continued developing this sound throughout their initial singles and albums. In 1991, following their 3rd studio album, they fell out with record companies and management and each other and disbanded, they were on the verge of a tour in the USA, and were considered a vital LIVE act.
In 2009 the band embarked on a new album, but everyone fell out again and only developed 5 or 6 new songs..The resulting album, The Orphaned Files, was sold out many times, but the band did not pursue things further..
In 2016 the band got back together and released a full brand new album in 2017/ Manco Diablo. Their most successful to date, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRXhQ1T2nBY The band are currently happy together and are developing their 6th studio Album due for completion before end of 2018, along with the long awaited announcement of LIVE performances following it's completion.
The LIVE Performances are planned to be recorded & visualized resulting in the bands 7th and final album.

The band dont do interviews any longer & have only really started to try and engage in social media over the past 18 months, but only in a small way.

21/04/18... CK. I have always found talking about the music, a silly after event, which has nothing to do with the music. Everyone in the band does it for the music. The music is too important to us to undermine it with post rationalism.
It is our art. We cannot change that art with more words. We paint our musical pictures, anything else after that is not really a relevant issue. We are all too busy to indulge in after the event conversations. In the early days, we were literally starving to death, then we got a bit of attention from the music press, it didn't fill our bellies, it just made us feel slightly less hungry. We are nothing to do with mainstream music, but do like some of it. The best thing about KOTS, is it had a huge holiday and realised that, the music was more important than the personalities or the business side of things. The music is priceless, getting paid for it is a vulgar irrelevancy.
All the words and all the music we have ever written, recorded and performed Live, were written when we were all 14 years old, The rest is merely history. ( KOTS/April 2018. )
