JOOKLO ZAPPA is the latest and most colorful Jooklo incarnation, featuring Stanley J. Zappa (Frank's psychedelic nephew) on soprano saxophone, Virginia Genta on sopranino saxophone and David Vanzan on percussions. The trio got started in Summer 2016 in occasion of a tour across Canada and the US, building its strenght on unity and magic.
The whole band being of Italian roots and therefore deeply connected to Mediterranean mystics, the sound springs from an organic mixture of folk music and free improvisation, where the two straight horns twirl around each other in a rainbow of acoustic drones and ecstatic scales hanging from a cloud of uncatchable drums' patterns as to open souls to higher plans and push free music towards new dimensions.
