Ultravox Roundhouse Live release & exclusive art print Ultravox Live at The Roundhouse
The long-awaited 2009 live album, Ultravox Live at The Roundhouse, will be released on 5th April 2010 in two formats: a DVD+2CD Special Edition containing the full 18-track show in both audio and video, plus a 39-minute 'Building Eden' reformation documentary, and a 13-track Highlights CD (audio only).
To celebrate its release, Townsend Records are giving away a limited amount of exclusive A4 'Return to Eden' Art Prints - one print per order.

mielenkiintoista triviaa:

But Eno was the good one because he had a more outrageous sense of how to use studios than anyone else I've ever met. He wasn't conservative at all in the way he did that. We used a Phil ColIins bass drum on "My Sex" (from Ultravox!). It was on an old Eno track. I said we need a pulse and he said, "oh, I've got this old bass drum part by Phil Collins." So we put that on and we did it. I hope he doesn't come back for the royalties.

We're very happy to annnounce that Robin Simon is confirmed as a special guest at John's Roundhouse show in London on 5 June.
The former Ultravox guitarist will be performing on a selection of material including songs from the band's pioneering 1978 album, Systems of Romance.

We're pleased to announce the forthcoming release of DNA - a new double disc (CD & DVD) by John Foxx, which is exclusively available through Townsend Records. This features unique collaborations between John Foxx and some of his favourite film-makers, with all of the short movies on the DVD being made especially for this project. On top of that, the CD features all the music for the films, plus tracks that Foxx had recorded as 'possibilities' for soundtracks. The final track on the disc, Over the Mirage is a new collaboration between John Foxx, Harold Budd and Ruben Garcia, while both parts (2 & 7) of A Secret Life and Violet Bloom were recorded with Steve D'Agostino. Ex-Japan percussionist Steve Jansen also features on the A Secret Life instrumentals. All of the stunning artwork for the project has been designed by Jonathan Barnbook, who has previously worked with Damien Hirst and also David Bowie, designing the sleeve and inner booklet for his Heathen album in 2002.

mutta tässä mielenkiintoinen john foxxin haastattelu, juttua tulevasta john foxx & the maths -levystä, metamaticin dub-vaikutteista, studiotyöskentelystä, siitä kun john teki LFO:n videon, lontoosta ja lopuksi ambient-levyistään ja harold buddista. en vaan tajuu mix toi on pitäny jakaa noin monelle sivulle mad

Brittiläinen syntikkapopin uranuurtaja Ultravox esiintyy 17. elokuuta Helsingin Tavastia-klubilla ja päivää myöhemmin Turun Caribiassa. Viime vuonna comeback-kiertueensa aloittanut Ultravox eli suuruutensa aikoja 1980-luvulla. Yhtyeen hittejä olivat muun muassa Vienna, Reap The Wild Wind ja Dancing With Tears In My Eyes.
Ultravox saapuu Suomen kokoonpanossa Midge Ure, Chris Cross, Warren Cann ja Billy Curie. Midge Ure on uransa varrella ollut mukana muissakin tunnetuissa yhtyeissä. Näitä ovat muun muassa Thin Lizzy, Rich Kids ja Slik.
Ure oli myös säveltämässä Britannian kaikkien aikojen suurimpiin hitteihin lukeutuvaa Do They Know It's Christmas? -hyväntekeväisyyssingleä.
Lipunmyynti Ultravoxin konsertteihin alkaa 30. kesäkuuta.
