Eipä kyllä ole. Se on sitten ihan erikseen. Noi Dubrovnik-näytökset on videotykkinäytöksiä siis. Ja idea on juuri, että ne on baarissa. Voi juoda kaljaa samalla kun kattoo jne.

Loistava Box Of Chameleons-arvostelu Rate Your Musicissa:
Why am I paying $60-$75 for a box set full of "songs" that sound like somebody just dropped their instruments? The price tag is unjustified, as I can't imagine anybody actually wanting something that sounded like this. If sound clips were available, I would not have purchased. Call it acid, call it noise, call it psychedelic---I call it crap.
Edit 10/21/07...the only reason these guys are writing positive reviews are because they want to dupe you into buying it off them.
Minä onnistuin myymisessä...

[quote:3611e06dfc="upsetter"]Loistava Box Of Chameleons-arvostelu Rate Your Musicissa:
SCG were not really chameleons. Those animals attempt to suit in the environment they are in, to conceal themselves and blend in the background. The Bishops and Gocher never certainly did anything like that, instead they have a destructing effect on any given genre. Every style of music becomes a target of mockery, every melody to be found is mutilated, ripped apart and the pieces are left scattered all over the floor. The results are unpredictable - in the dissection of country music an obsession with incest becomes the most notable feature. Free jazz turns into an even more uncomprehensible mess especially with the critical analysises offered by the band members. "The Palestine Club Half-Way House Scene" is a Middle-Eastern take on the soundtrack of a 1950s action movie. See where I'm heading at? On this compilation SCG truly defile music as an art form, obsessing over banality rather than spirituality or (for Heaven's sake) beauty. They are timeless artists but still easily recognizable as the musical court jesters of our time. Perhaps it is this ambiguous character that makes their music universally stunning? Despite nondescript scenes like "free-folk" being very hip in our time, SCG are undefinable. They were influenced by every piece of music any member ever heard, and the loose associations they make between somber church music and ostentatious space-age noise sound mysteriously natural. "Experimental" does not describe them - they did not intent to experiment, they were not avantgarde. They did not make art, they did not seek to make original & unique music, a river does not seek to reach the sea. A river swallows whatever is thrown at it, and delivers the trash forward. It is the only explanation for the hallucinogenic marching band sounds of "Plecostamus".[/quote:3611e06dfc]

lisätietoa:
[quote:90522e337f]Recorded in July of 1988 during the sessions that produced Sun City Girls' most popular recording, these nine tracks represent the other half of songs which were originally prepared as a 2LP demo version of Torch of the Mystics for Placebo Records in 1989. The sequencing of all 20 tracks at the time was entirely different with the predominately instrumental tracks in this collection mixed in and around the mostly vocal tracks of what became Torch. Placebo went out of business shortly after this proposed 2LP idea was presented to them but Majora Records quickly stepped in to begin releasing most of the material. Included here are five tracks from early Majora singles: "100 Pounds of Black Olives" and "The Fine-Tuned Machines of Lemuria" (the complete unreleased 12-minute version) from the single "You're Never Alone with a Cigarette" and all three tracks from Record #1 of the double 7" Three Fake Female Orgasms -- "Plaster Cupids Falling from the Ceiling," "The Beauty of Benghazi," and "Souvenirs from Jangare." The short piece "Harmful Little Armful" is from the triple 7" box set Bruce Lee, Heroin, and the Punk Scene (from a Bay Area label Massacre at Central High) and rounding out the set are three unreleased studio tracks recorded the same day as much of the Torch LP[/quote:90522e337f]

A Tribute to Charles Gocher & Sun City Girls
Most dates will feature an opening 40 minute film of Charles Gocher's video experiments followed by two sets of music. AB and RB will be performing Sun City Girls songs as an acoustic guitar duet. This tour will most likely be the only time this show will be presented as such and is a tribute both to Charles Gocher and selected music from the 27 year legacy of Sun City Girls. West Coast dates begin in May. All other US and Canada dates begin in June. A full list of shows will be presented here as they are confirmed.
