Pitäis ola jo nukkumassa, mutta kun tää on Maailman Paras Biisi:
Jungle ~Slave Ship
Heittää kylmille väreille ja melkein itkettää. Pitää rutistella silmiä ku on niin tunteella vedetty. Aika paljon saman henkinen ku Richie Havensin Freedom.

The Associates, tällaista skottilaista korvia miellyttävää uuden aallon nojatuoliromantiikkaa.
herra wiki kuvailee:
"Sulk" (1982)
"The band's new-wave origins barely show on this album. There are numerous overdubs, sometimes of strange sound sources such as steel cannisters or sheets of metal. An atmosphere of gloom opens the album, with dramatic chords backgrounding Mackenzie's bizarre, unsettling lyrics ("Tore my hair out from the roots/Planted them in someone's garden"). at times this gloom turns into a surreal excitement ("Nude spoons euphoria") that Mackenzie's impressive vocal range easily reaches, and then surpasses."
"It (Sulk) stayed in the British album chart for 20 weeks, reaching number 10."

[quote:6a7800a3e8]PLAY THE PINK FLOYD ALBUM IN THE DARK
AND DANCE TOGETHER
IN THE NUDE
So you close the curtains, if
that's your thing. You switch off
the lights. Put on the Pink Floyd
album. No, first play side 2.
The song Interstellar
Overdrive to be exact.
Hook up an extra speaker to
your pickup [record player] and
turn up the volume. Now take
off all your clothes. Friends, no
false modesty (after all,
it's dark). Put on the
first song of the second
side, and put yourself in motion,
slowly. Not to the beat of the
music, just move.
Let your consciousness be influenced
by the sounds coming out of
the speakers. You can start
dancing in a rhythm,
but you'll realize that
this rhythm will soon disappear
and that the pure sound gets more
and more important. Someone can
light some incense if they want, but
as soon as it starts smoking,
[new column]
get back and move.
Slowly and thoughtfully.
Cool and relaxed.
The sound is so loud it washes
over you. And all of a sudden
there is that second song, very
gentle with a sort of clock rhythm,
about a little man.
The Gnome. Followed by
Chapter 24. Songs are
written by Syd Barrett.
Very subtle lyrics and even more
subtle vocals by Roger Waters
and Syd Barrett. The singing
sounds gregorian, devote,
sacrosanct.
The Scarecrow starts again with
a clocklike rhythm. It's a trademark
for this album, these rhythms,
everything is subtle, fine and very well
balanced. First and second voice
sometimes sing disconnected melody
lines, and the organ more and more
gets a floating , almost church organ like
sound. But then we have (to close
side two) a song called Bike.
Pushing vocals and very poignant
lyrics. A happy pop-song.
Now don't immediately get up
and turnover the record, but stand
straight and stand still and let the
sounds that come after Bike enter
you, as a sort of off-world invasion.
[new column]
Side 1 starts with some kind
of counter action. Voices that
tell each other secret
messages. Astronomy Domine.
Spatial sounds and very talented
guitar playing. The Floyd have a
really unique sound, a Barrett
sound. Willem de Ridder has been
present at the rehearsals of this
song and Syd Barrett dictates from
A to Z what should happen.
Not only did he single-handedly
write all the songs, he is also
responsible for the sublime
atmosphere in all songs. Songs like
Lucifer Sam, Matilda Mother and
Flaming are full of simple and
obvious soundcuriosa which, especially
thanks to the brilliant production
(Norman Smith in combination
with Syd Barrett), manage to give
each song it's own "thing".
Even so, all songs resemble
each other. With the exception of
Interstellar Overdrive that is less
solidly structured,
all songs are very well constructed.
A song like Flaming
requires attentive listening.
An unbelievable combination/fusion
of humor, devout attention,
a holy atmosphere and pot. When
Rick Wright starts playing the piano
[new column]
instead of the organ things
start falling down. Pow R. Toc
H. starts with a piano solo.
Therefore it is a rather disjoint
but still an exciting song.
The first side ends with
Take Up Your Stethoscope And
Walk (the only song on the album
written by Roger Waters)
and therefore obviously different
from the rest. It lacks the
devout tension, but instead it's
very driving/pushing and ...ehm...
potent. A nice closer.
An album to which you can
and should listen a lot and often,
and to which you can slow
dance (in the nude) and that is
called THE PIPER AT THE
GATES OF DAWN. A very
musical album. A promising
album. A gotta-have-it. The
number is SCX 6157 (columbia-
EMI)[/quote:6a7800a3e8]
